The Service Provider is the data controller responsible for processing personal data under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
To make a shared family calendar work across devices, the Application processes the following information:
The Application does not collect precise location data.
The Application does not require you to create a traditional account or provide an email address, phone number or password to use its main features.
To enable sync between devices and sharing with family members, the calendar content described above is stored on secure third‑party cloud infrastructure operated by trusted providers in the European Union. The Service Provider applies industry‑standard access controls so that your calendar is only accessible to you and the family members you have explicitly invited.
Calendar content is associated with your anonymous account identifier, not with your real‑world identity.
If you choose to import events from your device calendar, that import happens on your device. Imported events become part of your FamWeek calendar and are then synced and stored in the same way as any other event you create.
Personal data is processed based on one or more of the following legal grounds:
The Application relies on a small number of trusted third‑party providers acting as data processors on behalf of the Service Provider:
The Application does not use advertising networks or third‑party tracking services.
The Service Provider does not sell or rent personal data.
Calendar content is only shared with the family members you have explicitly invited to your shared calendar.
Information may otherwise be disclosed only if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of users or the Service Provider.
Calendar content is retained for as long as your family calendar remains active. You can delete individual events at any time from within the Application. You can request deletion of all data associated with your anonymous identifier by contacting famweek@vandijk.app; please include enough information for us to identify the calendar in question (e.g. family name and approximate creation date).
If you contact the Service Provider by email, your message and contact details may be retained for up to 12 months to respond to your request.
Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

The Application is intended for family use, but FamWeek accounts are set up and managed by an adult family member. The Application is not intended for children under 16 years of age to use independently, and the Service Provider does not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.
If you believe a child has provided personal data directly to the Service Provider, please contact us so it can be removed.
The Service Provider takes reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls on the backend. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure.
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Updates will be published in the Application or on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
By using the Application, you consent to the processing of information as described in this Privacy Policy.
